Our monthly maintenance work party . Tools and Gloves provided. Coffee at Minter’s (winter) or Timmy’s (summer) afterwards.

Field Trips   2017:  

January 21st 2017,  Annual Hope Slough  winter walk and Callicarpa lunch

February 25th, 2017 we explore the ponds, fields and  marshes Wilband Creek Park, an urban restored wetland. Lunch at Clayburn Tea Room

March  26, 2017, we visit the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve  to see nesting herons and join EVF NatureKids medicinal plant talk.

April 15, 2017  Spring birding at   Mill Lake & Fish Trap Creek  Lunch at local Food Court 

April 30, 2017 Stein Valley  with Joachim Boge includes a cable ferry ride across the Fraser 

May 6, 2017  we visit the property we steward, Camp Slough Wildlife Area. Lunch at Minter's Callicarpa Cafe

May 19, 2017  spring birding and butterflying  Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park & Hope Airport with Langley Field Naturalists

June 2, 2017 Skagit Valley Ross Lake Provincial Park Trip with LFN's Jude & Al Grass / Denis St John, Butterfly specialist

July 2017 (date TBA)  Manning Provincial Park Alpine Meadows

August 22 2017 Annual Summer Picnic at Browne Creek Wetland Walk& Berry picking  

September 24 2017  A Mushroom Walk with Sharmin Gamiet Fraser Valley  mushroom guru

October 28 2017  observe spawning salmon at Weaver Creek 

November 26 2017 see the over wintering snow geese and winter waterfowl at Reifel Bird Sanctuary

If you would like to lead a trip let Janne know the date, the destination, where you will meet the group, level of difficulty and what to bring.  

Liability Policy for club sanctioned trips:  

All participants must sign a waiver to participate (membership renewal automatically includes the waiver).  

We carpool as much as possible.  Club policy is passengers pay car owner $5 for each hour of driving.
