Harrison Hot Springs Field Trip

Despite a torrential downpour, 7-field trippers enjoyed lunch at a local cafe and a walk around the lagoon and along the hot springs source trail. Some early birds had breakfast out as well.

 Many past observations were shared including stories of river otters, mink, rubber boas, alligator lizards  dippers and nude bathers.  Sadly we noticed the shoreline was littered with Styrofoam - likely from docks ravaged by winter storms. 

 Highlights of the day were a double-crested cormorant  fishing in the lagoon and a common loon diving in the lake.  Sightings were submitted to the Great Backyard Bird Count.  See list below:
